ISLAMABAD: Imran Khan, the chairman of the PTI, stated on Saturday that he will announce the date for his “Haqeeqi Azadi March” next Thursday or Friday and urged the administration not to take any action to halt the march. To block the PTI’s protracted march, the government had filed a petition with the Supreme Court. The Khan-led party received a boost when the highest court declined to give an interim order to halt the PTI’s planned lengthy march.
The government repeatedly warned the PTI leader before turning to the highest court, with a key official threatening to multiply its May 25 policy by ten if Khan announced another long march. If the PTI organises another long march, it will be their second visit to Islamabad. On May 25, the last march took place, and when Khan arrived in Islamabad, he immediately called it off.In a press conference with PTI Senator Azam Swati, Khan downplayed rumours of his arrest and declared that the long march would go on even if he were in jail.
After his party members took to the streets in response to the Toshakana verdict, which disqualified him under Article 63(1), the ex-prime minister was named in a first information report (FIR) registered at a police station in Islamabad today. He was already the subject of several cases against him (p).
