The Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) is set to occur on September 22 (Sunday) in Karachi, with approximately 167,077 students registered to participate, as confirmed by Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) spokesperson Umar Khan.
Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS) has been tasked with overseeing the exam, which will be held at the NED University and the Ojha campus of DUHS. This year, 13,000 candidates from Karachi and 38,000 from the rest of Sindh will be competing for 858 available seats in medical and dental colleges and universities across Karachi.
Candidates have been instructed to prepare essential documents, including their admit cards, computerized national identity cards, and domicile or Permanent Residence Certificates (PRC). The admission window for students is scheduled to open from 7 AM to 9 AM, after which examination centers will close. The test itself will run from 10 AM to 1:30 PM.
In a bid to maintain a secure testing environment, the spokesperson reiterated that candidates are prohibited from bringing mobile phones, calculators, watches, Bluetooth devices, and any other electronic gadgets into the examination centers. Any student found in possession of such devices will have their exam card canceled.
This year’s MDCAT is a critical opportunity for aspiring medical and dental students, and strict adherence to the guidelines is essential to ensure a smooth testing process.
