ISLAMABAD: The Federal Inquiry Agency (FIA) will conduct a thorough investigation into the foreign funding case involving PTI, according to Minister for Information Marriyum Aurangzeb’s statement on Thursday.
Aurangzeb declared at a press conference held after the government’s cabinet meeting that an investigation has been launched against “all those implicated in this crime” as of right now.
She added that “all of them would have been in jail if the verdict had come under Imran Khan’s era,” adding that “the government would take measures in light of the Election Commission of Pakistan’s verdict and there will be a probe as to where the funds were used.”
The communications minister emphasised that Akbar S. Babar, a founding member of the PTI, was the one who submitted the plea and that the government had nothing to do with the foreign funding case.
