In the sixth game of the Champions One-Day Cup at Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad, the Markhors, led by Mohammad Rizwan, secured their third consecutive victory by defeating the Dolphins by 92 runs. Batting first, the Markhors posted a total of 284/9, thanks to a century from Kamran Ghulam (113 off 110 balls) and notable contributions from skipper Rizwan (51 off 67 balls) and Salman Agha (49 off 47 balls). Despite losing two early wickets, Ghulam’s brilliant knock stabilized the innings. Faheem Ashraf was the standout bowler for the Dolphins, taking 4 wickets for 43 runs, while Mir Hamza took 2 wickets.
In their chase, the Dolphins struggled to build momentum and were bundled out for 192 runs in 43.5 overs. Sahibzada Farhan provided a steady start with 24 runs, but his opening partner, Muhammad Hurraira, was dismissed for a duck. Captain Saud Shakeel contributed a valuable 41 runs, while Asif Ali played an aggressive knock of 50 from 43 balls. However, the rest of the batting lineup failed to make significant contributions.
Mohammad Imran and Salman Agha shared three wickets each for the Markhors, effectively dismantling the Dolphins’ batting order.
