In response to the 1998 blackbuck poaching case, gangster Lawrence Bishnoi has admitted that he purchased a rifle with the intent to kill Bollywood superstar Salman Khan.
According to details, Bishnoi, who is being questioned in connection with the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala, claimed he wanted to impart a “lesson” on the Dabangg star.
Bishnoi, who revealed the murderous plan, claimed he had sent Sampat Nehra, a different gangster, to shoot the 56-year-old actor.
Bishnoi informed the police that Nehra lacked a long-range weapon and could only engage targets close to him, which is why he spent 400,000 INR on a spring rifle.
However, Dinesh Dagar, from whom Bishnoi had purchased the unique rifle, was apprehended by the police in 2018.
While filming for Hum Saath Saath Hain in Rajasthan’s Kankani, Khan was accused of hunting and killing two blackbucks.
The Bishnoi community reveres blackbucks, a protected species under the Indian Wildlife Protection Act of 1972.
For killing the blackbucks, the actor was later given a five-year prison sentence in 2018, but he was later released on bail.
