Following the deadliest bombing at a mosque in Peshawar, King Charles III of Britain sent the President of Pakistan a note of sorrow.
An attack by a suicide bomber left at least 100 people dead and more than 200 injured on Monday in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s capital.
In a letter to President Dr. Arif Alvi, the new king of Britain, said: “The horrific bombing in Peshawar on Monday completely horrified my wife and me. Anywhere they take place, such heinous acts of brutality are a horrific assault on our shared humanity and our principles of tolerance and compassion.
“King Charles further said “The fact that the victims were in a house of worship during afternoon prayers makes it all the more horrifying. We have the deepest sympathy for everyone who has suffered such heinous loss and harm. We have the warmest memories of our 2006 visit to Pakistan, and we will keep the people of Pakistan in our hearts and prayers as you grieve your departed loved ones.”
