The Karachi police have made a significant breakthrough in their efforts to curb criminal activity in the city, with the arrest of six wanted dacoits from the Landhi area on July 19, 2024. The arrested individuals, identified as Ali Raza, Zafar Iqbal, Haider, Abdul Rehman, Liaquat, and Abid, are said to have been involved in numerous incidents of robbery and theft across different areas of Karachi.
According to the police, the arrested individuals have confessed to several crimes, including looting people withdrawing cash from banks, robbing shops, and committing robberies at Singer Chowrangi and Landhi 89. One of the suspects, Abid, has also revealed that he shot a citizen during a robbery in the New Karachi area. Additionally, the group has confessed to robbing a citizen of Rs170,000 in Shah Faisal on the sixth day of Eid ul Fitr, stealing Rs300,000 from a person in Quaidabad 1.5 months ago, and Rs168,000 in a robbery at a general store in Akhtar Colony last month.
The police have recovered 18 stolen mobile phones, cash, and weapons from the arrested individuals. The investigation is ongoing, and the police are conducting raids to arrest two other accomplices who are still at large. This significant arrest is a testament to the Karachi police’s efforts to combat criminal activity and ensure the safety and security of the citizens of Karachi.
