Joint anti-dengue campaign on the chopping block
RAWALPINDI: In reaction to the persistent spike in dengue cases despite changing weather, district and health authorities in the twin cities have chosen to start a coordinated anti-dengue operation.
According to official sources, the Rawalpindi Health Authority stressed the necessity for anti-dengue measures within Islamabad’s boundaries to prevent dengue mosquitoes from penetrating Rawalpindi during a meeting held at the Ministry of Interior.
The Islamabad Health Department responded by reiterating its continuing anti-dengue measures while also signalling its willingness to cooperate in border regions close to Captain Colonel Sher Khan Road.
Hospitals in Rawalpindi have noted a substantial influx of dengue cases from Islamabad in the meantime.
Dr. Ijaz Ahmed, the chief executive of the DHA, claims that the Rawalpindi district has been actively waging an anti-dengue programme. With 45 new cases in the last day, there have been 1,224 confirmed dengue infections this season. Three associated hospitals are currently caring for 97 confirmed dengue patients.
