Miftah Ismail
ISLAMABAD: As the cash-strapped country searches for ways to lessen the impact of the devastating floods, Finance Minister Miftah Ismail stated on Wednesday that the federal government will take into consideration purchasing commodities from India.
Monday, when the nation’s death toll reached 1,100, hundreds of thousands of people were forced to flee their homes, and thousands of acres of crops were obliterated, the finance minister proposed the notion to import edible products from India.
The finance minister said that numerous international organisations had requested permission from the government to import food from India across the land border in a statement posted to Twitter today.
