Ishaq Dar, the Minister of Finance, was given a lifetime exemption from having to appear in court in relation to an assets matter on Monday by an accountability court.
On Monday, Federal Minister Ishaq Dar appeared before an accountability court in Islamabad in connection with a National Accountability Bureau (NAB) referral. During his hearing, he submitted a petition asking for a permanent exemption from court attendance.
The court granted Dar’s request for a permanent exemption from presence while simultaneously requesting a response on the motions for assets de-attachment and acquittal at the subsequent hearing.
The persistent arrest warrants for Finance Minister Ishaq Dar were delayed by an accountability court earlier in September till October 7. The court said that it will cancel the warrants if the accused appeared before the court.
