The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Monday announced that pacer Jasprit Bumrah would miss the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup because of an injury.According to a statement from the board, the medical staff of the BCCI excluded the fast bowler after conducting a thorough evaluation and consulting with the experts.
The BCCI further stated that it would shortly announce a substitute for Jasprit Bumrah in the team for the prestigious competition.Due to a back injury, Bumrah was initially unable to participate in the current Mastercard 3-match T20I series against South Africa.The 28-year-old also skipped the most recent Asia Cup despite his unconventional action and yorkers making him a strong limited-overs asset.
