DOHA: Authorities announced Thursday that three Pakistani firefighters perished in a training mishap in the capital of Qatar, which occurred weeks before the World Cup began.Authorities claimed that the three were not taking part in a global World Cup security drill that is now taking place in and around Doha and includes demonstrations and simulations of “chemical events.”
The three were atop a crane that fell near Doha’s Hamad port, according to stories shared on social media by friends of the three and given by witnesses to the disaster late on Wednesday.The collapsed crane was visible in the photos that accompanied the posts.
