ISLAMABAD — On Monday, Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb launched a scathing attack on Imran Khan, the leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), claiming that Khan had abandoned his narrative of a foreign plot after wreaking havoc on Pakistan’s national interests.
Aurangzeb said in her response to Imran Khan’s interview with the Financial Times that the former prime minister could not be forgiven after he recanted his story and that he would be held responsible for his actions.
On the basis of this story, the minister said that anarchy and misinformation were disseminated across the nation, and at this point, a simple retreat was not sufficient.
“After labeling the parliament, the Pakistan Army, and the national institutions as traitors, he can’t be let off just by saying it’s behind me and it’s over,” the PML-N man continued. “It’s not fair to him,” the PML-N leader said.
She made the observation that the leader of the PTI coerced individuals in constitutional positions into violating the Constitution for the sake of the fiction he had manufactured.
According to her, Khan was left with no other choice except to abandon his false rhetoric on the plot, the imported government, and the regime change. She went on to say that Imran Khan has placed Pakistan’s interests in serious jeopardy due to his desire for power.
