Imran Rias Khan, a senior journalist at Atok and an anchor in Express News, was arrested by Chakwar police on Thursday shortly after Atok police released him on court order.
Chakwar police officials arrested a journalist outside the courtroom, where he was presented by Atock police. Prior to
, a senior judge at the Atok Court denied the request by Chakwar police to hand over Imranriaz. Judges accused Chakwar police of not following normal legal proceedings.
“Imran Riaz cannot be handed over to Chakwal police,” the judge claimed. However, the journalist volunteered to be arrested outside the courtroom.
Various procedures have been registered for journalists in different cities.

Rawalpindi Division confirmed the arrest of Imran Riaz by Chakwal police, adding that an initial report (FIR) against him had already been registered but was “sealed”.
