The leadership of Imran Khan’s team, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has rejected the decision of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to declare the former prime minister ineligible and asserted that the majority of Pakistanis support Imran Khan.
Imran Khan disqualified
PTI leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi remarked, “Today we all say that we do not accept the minus one” decision, when speaking to the media.
Qureshi continued by saying that Imran Khan is supported by the majority of Pakistanis, who on July 17 ousted the country’s incumbent leaders. Using the PTI Chairman to administer the democracy is a mistake, he claimed, on the part of the ruling class.
This is a bad choice, according to former information minister Fawad Chaudhry; the ECP cannot unseat Imran Khan.
According to PTI leader Asad Umar, the party would appeal this decision to the High Court, and it won’t even stand for a few hours.
Nawaz Sharif, the leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), is said to have written this verdict, according to Shahbaz Gill. He claimed that the people rejected the verdict because it was signed by Nawaz Sharif’s “personal servant.”
This type of verdict, according to the party leadership, has never been seen before. This decision is made in opposition to 22 crore people. Why doesn’t the Chief Election Commissioner join the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), the PTI leadership asked? They claimed that Pakistan will undergo a revolution today. They’ll expel these dictators from the assembly and keep the system intact.
The judgement, which was reached unanimously, was previously announced by a four-member panel led by CEC Sikandar Sultan Raja.
Imran Khan is no longer a member of the National Assembly, according to the ECP’s ruling, which also notes that he presented a fake affidavit and engaged in corrupt activities.
The National Assembly seat held by Imran Khan has been declared vacant by the electoral body.
ECP continued by saying that Imran Khan should face legal repercussions because he is no longer “Sadiq and Amin.”
