PESHAWAR: Former Prime Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan directed party workers on Monday to prepare for the ‘Haqeeqi Azadi March’ (true freedom march) on Islamabad.
He made the remarks during a party meeting at his Bani Gala residence in the federal capital. Senior leaders such as Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Pervez Khattak, and Yasmin Rashid attended the meeting, which was presided over by Imran Khan. During the meeting, the PTI chief urged workers in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab to make all necessary preparations for the decisive round of anti-government protests.
Imran Khan directed that preparations be made at the tehsil and district levels. “This time, the freedom march will be fully prepared,” the former Prime Minister was quoted as saying.
He stated that special instructions will be issued to party workers prior to the march’s start.
According to sources, the PTI chief will issue instructions to MPAs regarding the long march, and lawmakers will be required to attend the meeting.
They also stated that the meeting will begin at 11 a.m. and that all lawmakers must arrive at the CM House on time.
During a party power show in Punjab’s Rahim Yar Khan district on September 24, the ex-premier stated that he would issue the final call for anti-government protests when he was confident that he could “take three wickets in one ball.”
Imran stated that he is supervising the preparations made by party activists and that he will make a decision on the day when he is confident that the party is fully prepared.
Imran stated that his much-hyped call for the next protest against the coalition government would be the “last,” and that he would not stage any protests or hold a long march in response to that call.
“That call will be issued in order to save Pakistan through free and transparent elections.” We have no other option but to hold elections in order to save the country.”
The country’s economic woes cannot be solved without political stability and stable government, according to Imran, who added that only free and transparent elections can bring stability to the economy and the country.
