In response to growing international costs and currency changes, the government on Sunday increased the price of petroleum goods for the ensuing two weeks.
Ishaq Dar, the federal minister of finance and revenue, announced a Rs35 per litre rise in the cost of gasoline and diesel in a televised speech.
Kerosene and light diesel oil prices increased by Rs 18 per litre. The following new pricing, which took effect on January 29 at 11 a.m., followed the increase:
Rs249.80 per litre for gasoline
High-speed diesel: Rs. 262.80 per litre
Kerosene oil costs Rs. 189.83 for per litre.
Light diesel fuel costs 187 rupees per litre.
Dar revealed that OGRA had asked the government and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to immediately apply the revised rates in order to stop temporary stockpiling and rumours of a petrol scarcity.
