ISLAMABAD: Minister for Interior Rana Sanaullah Khan on Wednesday said that incumbent government is committed to eliminate human trafficking and coordination among federal government and Provinces is imperative to end it from the society.
He was giving a speech at a seminar in Islamabad called “High level dialogue on Human Trafficking in Persons,” which was put on by the Federal Investigation Agency and the UN Office on Drugs and Crime.
The Minister expressed the government’s determination to eradicate human trafficking by announcing that it is implementing effective measures.
Imran Khan was condemned by the interior minister in a press conference for misleading the public and splitting the country with his uncivil behaviour. Imran Khan, according to him, is attempting to defame government agencies.
He stated that everyone is equal before the law and that no one will be allowed to take the law into their own hands with regards to the state of law and order in the capital.
When asked about the Long March of Imran Khan, he responded that the provinces supporting it will be in violation of the constitution and suffer the repercussions.
“The federal government has power under the constitution, and I would ask cabinet and prime minister to employ it in such a situation,” he continued.
In response to a different inquiry regarding transgender-related laws, Rana Sanaullah stated that all decisions should be made in accordance with our religion, which serves as our ultimate source of guidance.
“Everything comes after being Muslims, which is who we are. Religious authorities will advise us on how to live our lives in accordance with Islam, he continued.
In response to a query regarding the shutdown of roads in Islamabad, he stated that D-Chowk had been shut down as a result of farmer protest. He stated that conversations will be held with the agricultural leadership, and their requests would be taken into consideration. Farmers who were protesting could be given a suitable location to register their complaints, he claimed, but they couldn’t be permitted to travel to D-Chowk and be asked to do so.
In the event that PTI long march participants try to approach D-Chowk, he threatened to take harsh measures against them. As the Supreme Court has already instructed in this regard, protesters may gather at F-9 Park or other locations. However, the minister reaffirmed that serious measures would be taken if any attempt was made to approach D-Chowk.
He questioned Imran Khan’s attitude and asserted that due to his extraordinary personality, no one could bargain with him. Speaking of the Toshakhana case against Imran Khan, he claimed that the former leader had engaged in embezzlement and acquired money totaling roughly Rs. 260 million by selling gifts in the market.
He criticized Imran Khan for out-of-court settlement made in a case of over Rs50 billion laundering by the previous government, as there was no clue who had signed this agreement. He said that amount of Rs50billion of Bahria Town was confiscated which had been transferred against the law and returned against donation of land for Al-Qadir trust.
