Government no longer issues 100-page passports
KARACHI: The passport office and the Pakistani government both acknowledged that the 100-page passport has been discontinued.
According to information, the 100-page passport was no longer being issued. The passport office issued a statement apologising to the public for the inconvenience, but stating that this shutdown is only temporary.
Before Islamabad, the Ministry of Interior’s Directorate General of Immigration and Passports started issuing e-passports from all passport offices nationwide. The federal government unveiled e-passports in June.
The charge for a 36-page passport with a five-year validity would be Rs. 9,000, and the fee for an urgent electronic passport will be Rs. 15,000, according to the Directorate General of Immigration and Passports.
A 72-page electronic passport will cost Rs 16,500 normally, and Rs 7,000 urgently. Normally, a 36-page passport with a 10-year validity period will cost Rs13,500.
