KARACHI: The prospect of a rate hike in the impending monetary policy announcement slated for next week helped gold prices finish higher on Saturday to make up for a minor loss suffered the previous day.
The price of the precious metal increased by Rs200 per tola and Rs171 per 10 kilos, reversing losses from the previous day, to close at Rs142,600 and Rs122,256, respectively.
The price of gold increased overall during the previous week by Rs4,100, or 2.96%, per tola.It should be mentioned that the price of gold is currently below its actual cost. The price of gold is Rs 3,000 per tola less than it is in Dubai.
