As part of his farewell tours, Chief of the Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa visited several different Army Medical Corps (AMC) facilities on Saturday, according to the military’s media arm on Saturday.
During the visit, the army commander was joined by Lieutenant General Nigar Johar, who serves as the Surgeon General of the Pakistan Army, according to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
During his visit to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Rawalpindi, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) was informed by Major General Muhammad Mohsin Qureshi, Commandant of the CMH, on the recently enhanced, cutting-edge medical facilities there.
ISPR said that General Bajwa was informed that medical treatment will be provided in accordance with international standards of care and that the management of the hospital would be concentrating on providing care to patients.
Additionally, separate counters have been set up for the convenience of civilian patients who are not eligible for government benefits.
In addition, the military media wing said that efforts are being made to produce an atmosphere that is patient-friendly and to offer associated amenities for attendants of patients.
COAS was also shown a newly established control room, which was established to impart training to doctors through a live surgery process in an academic center, and was designed and established to facilitate medical students for better understanding of surgical procedures, according to the ISPR. The ISPR added that the control room was shown to COAS.
In the statement, it was also claimed that General Bajwa complimented the efforts of the Army Medical Corps, which is delivering state-of-the-art rehabilitation services to civilian patients as well as members of the armed forces, their families, and civilian patients in need of health care.
The media wing stated that the Shuhada Families & Veterans’ Medical facilitation Centre provides convenient basic healthcare facilities to families of martyrs and senior veterans up to the age of 75 years, including blood sampling, medicines, and checkups. They also stated that the upgraded pharmacy is now entertaining 3,000 patients each and every day.
In addition, according to the press release, General Bajwa participated in the laying of the foundation stone for a new training block at the Armed Forces Post Graduate Institute.
Later on, the departing commander of the army went on a tour of newly built soldiers’ bedrooms, a newly formed Army Help Centre, and updated facilities at the Armed Forces Institute of Cardiology.
The Army Chief of Staff expressed gratitude to the AMC’s physicians and other healthcare workers for their enormous labor and selfless dedication to their profession. ISPR added that the Chief of Army Staff praised the enormous improvements that are currently being incorporated into healthcare infrastructure and stated that providing quality healthcare for soldiers and their families is a fundamental component of the army’s welfare regime and essential for maintaining the morale of troops.
According to the press statement, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) was greeted by Lieutenant General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Commander of the Rawalpindi Corps, shortly after arriving at CMH.
