3D rendering of Samsung’s upcoming smartwatches, the Galaxy Watch 5 and Galaxy Watch 5 Pro, leaked online a month before its August launch, thanks to leakers Evan Blass and 91Mobiles. The rendering shows the two clocks from all angles and is consistent with other leaked details about the two devices.
The first to appear is the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro. This is the more premium of the two and is rumored to be the successor to last year’s Galaxy Watch 4 Classic. The bad news is that rumors that the physically rotating bezel is gone seem to be true. These renderings show no sign of a mechanism that is popular with fans. It also mentions one model size, 45mm, instead of the two sizes we saw last year (46mm and 44mm).
Next is the standard Galaxy Watch 5 with a simpler design. There are reportedly two sizes. 44mm and unspecified small size. Both they and the Watch 5 Pro allegedly have a pair of physical buttons on the right side of the screen, with LTE connectivity, GPS support, and 5ATM water resistance options. That is, you can survive at a depth of 50 meters up to 10 meters. A few minutes at a time. Regarding the
software, Blass reports that both watches are running Google’s WearOS 3.5 skinned by Samsung’s One UI Watch 4.5. Earlier reports suggested supporting faster 10W fast charging instead of its predecessor’s 5W charging. According to
Blass, both watches may be announced next month as part of Samsung’s annual Summer Unpacked event. It allegedly comes with a new set of Galaxy Pro earphones and a new flip-and-fold foldable device.
