Foxconn, a major tech company in Taiwan, showed two additional electric vehicle prototypes on Tuesday, one of which was a pickup truck. It also said that commercial production on two further designs will begin later this year.
As the largest manufacturer of contract electronics in the world, Foxconn already contributes significantly to the production of devices for a variety of leading worldwide brands, including Apple’s iPhone.The company unveiled three concept cars last year as part of its effort to diversify beyond electronics production and embrace the competitive but quickly growing EV market.
At a media presentation on Tuesday in Taipei, Foxconn Chairman Young Liu displayed two additional prototypes: a pickup truck called the Model V and a sporty hatchback called the Model B.
