For October 2023, the government hikes the price of LPG by Rs20.86 per kilogramme.
ISLAMABAD: The government has announced a significant 8.7% increase in Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) rates for both home and business consumers in October 2023 compared to the prior month, which works out to 20.86 per kilogramme. The new pricing system will go into effect as of right now (October 1, 2023).
Notably, the government has increased LPG prices for the third month in a row by a sizeable amount. The depreciation of the Pakistani rupee versus the US dollar and Saudi Aramco’s increase in the pricing of propane and butane, the main ingredients of LPG, were cited by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) as the main causes of this ongoing escalation.
According to the Ogra’s statement, the cost of LPG per kilogramme will increase to Rs261 in October from Rs240 in September 2023.
