Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, the federal minister of foreign affairs, emphasised the significance of energy and road connectivity for regional prosperity between Pakistan and Tajikistan.
Bilawal emphasised the significance of the CASA-1000 power transmission project’s completion in this context during a bilateral meeting with the Tajik foreign minister Sirojiddin Muhriddin on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Council of Foreign Ministers Meeting.

The foreign minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to fostering regional connectivity, growing bilateral trade, and fostering people-to-people ties.
In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), Bilawal emphasised the importance of reviving bilateral economic ties by increasing trade and investment through collaboration in numerous fields and regular business delegation exchanges.
The two countries’ close cooperation at multilateral fora, such as the SCO, was also praised by the foreign minister, who also discussed the Afghan situation.
He emphasised the need for immediate international humanitarian assistance for the Afghan people while also highlighting Pakistan’s efforts to promote humanitarian efforts, long-lasting peace, and stability in Afghanistan. The foreign minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for an Afghanistan that is peaceful, united, stable, and prosperous.
