ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) “categorically denied” issuing any Statutory Regulatory Order (SRO) that would permit former military personnel to import bulletproof cars duty and tax-free on Saturday
The revenue agency issued a brief statement saying, “FBR firmly denies rumours surfacing in some areas of media that it has issued an SRO authorising duty-free import of bulletproof automobiles.”
The tax collection agency further stated that while the federal cabinet had approved such a facility for use in 2019, no communication to that effect had yet been made.Salman Sufi, the PM’s assistant, said in a separate statement that it is not in doubt to grant any official duty-free imports.When importing any vehicle, “everyone shall pay their due amount of duty,” he tweeted.
