International Conference on Nuclear Applications and Technology will be held in Islamabad, the nation’s capital, from October 24 to 26, 2022.
In order to achieve sustainable socioeconomic growth, the conference will demonstrate how nuclear technology is being used peacefully in a variety of scientific fields.
The first meeting took place on October 24, 2022, at the Islamabad Hotel. Intellectuals from various fields, including national and international scientists, academics, and government officials, attended the conference.
Waqar Ahmad Butt, the conference secretary, gave the opening remarks. Dr. Muhammad TahirKhaleeq, president of the Pakistan Nuclear Society, presented opening remarks about the conference and introduced the Pakistan Nuclear Society to the audience.
Muhammad Naeem, N.I., H.I., S.I., a former chairman of the PAEC, and Ghulam Nabi, N.I., H.I., S.I., a former member of the technical PAEC, each received two-lifetime achievement awards.
A thematic session, seven presentation sessions, a Women in Nuclear (WIN) session exclusively for women, and a thematic session will all be included in the conference. The WIN session will feature 40 presentations highlighting various developments in the peaceful use of nuclear technology for achieving sustainable development.
A first-of-its-kind session from the PNS platform, geared toward students interested in nuclear science, is also part of the conference.
Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed, an illustrious figure, served as the opening session’s chief guest.
In his speech, Mushahid Syed expressed his gratitude to the Pakistan Nuclear Society for taking the initiative to host a conference on a crucial issue.
Mushahid Syed emphasized how nuclear technology can be both a highly useful tool and a very dangerous one in his speech, but he also reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to the peaceful use of nuclear technology.
Mushahid Syed also identified other areas where Pakistan is utilizing nuclear technology to raise the standard of living for its citizens and support various industrial sectors, placing particular emphasis on the energy, agriculture, and healthcare industries.
The principal guest praised PNS’s efforts to further nuclear research, which will ultimately help millions of people in Pakistan and around the world.
