In the Madudu sub-county, several Ugandan health facilities are having difficulty caring for Ebola patients.
A 16-year-old young mother was “detained” at Madudu Health Center III while the hospital administration phoned for an ambulance. According to the hospital, the woman reportedly experienced bloody diarrhoea in addition to a high body temperature.
The mother, the infant, and the lady are taken to the Mubende National Referral Hospital Isolation Center a few hours later.
The Uganda Red Cross is in the vanguard of providing what it called “dignified burial” and evacuating suspicious patients from communities.
Responders are overburdened by the daily community fatalities and notifications of possible Ebola cases. Irene Nakasiita, the director of communications for the Uganda Red Cross, claims that despite their efforts yielding results, the organisation is at capacity.
She claims that in order to continue to give crucial assistance to the Ugandan government’s attempts to stop the spread of the Ebola virus, they are concentrating on vital locations.
