On Thursday, the Sindh High Court (SHC) announced its decision in the high-profile case and ordered the authorities to return Dua Zahra, the adolescent who allegedly vanished from Karachi in April but was later revealed to have fled her home to wed Zaheer Ahmed, 21, to Karachi.
Earlier today, the court had delayed its decision on a petition Mehdi Kazmi, Dua Zahra’s father, filed accusing the young man of stealing the daughter from her home in Karachi’s Alfalah neighbourhood.
The SHC’s two-member bench, presided over by Justice Iqbal Kalhoro, delivered the decision. At the start of the hearing, the police brought Zaheer before the court. The SHC has notified Zaheer that he was being called before the court.
Dua Zahra must be transferred to Karachi so that the matter can be tried there since she disappeared from this city, Justice Kalhoro stated during the hearing.
