The greatest ever seizure of crystal meth in Australia, according to police, was made on Friday. The substance, often known as “ice,” was found hidden between marble stones in many sea freight containers and was valued at over A$1.6 billion ($1.1 billion).

According to a statement from the New South Wales (NSW) state police, more than 1,800 kg of methylamphetamine were discovered concealed in marble stone slabs in recent containers that arrived in Sydney port.Following last week’s arrest of roughly 750 kg of ice, police reported on Friday that little over 1,000 kg of methylamphetamine had been discovered in the most recent discovery.

Police detained three males in connection with the drugs discovered last week, but no charges have been brought in relation to the most recent seizure.
