At the Korea Open in Seoul on Thursday, British No. 1 Cameron Norrie defeated Kaichi Uchida 6-2, 6-2 to go to the round of eight.
After losing three straight matches, Norrie triumphed over Uchida in just over an hour of play.
In the quarterfinals, Norrie will take on American Jenson Brooksby, who eliminated competition favourite SoonWoo Kwon in straight sets.
Additionally, No. 1 seed Casper Ruud defeated Chilean Nicolas Jarry 6-2, 3-6, 6-3 to advance to the quarterfinals against Yoshihito Nishioka. Casper Ruud finished second at the US Open.
Nishioka of Japan easily defeated Taro Daniel in straight sets in one hour and 22 minutes.
In a match that lasted close to three hours, Aleksandar Kovacevic defeated Chun Hsin Tseng 7-6 (5), 6-7 (4), 6-2, while American Mackenzie McDonald easily defeated 19-year-old Shintaro Mochizuki.
