Pakistan’s white-ball captain, Babar Azam, expressed his aspiration to secure victory for his nation in the ninth edition of the T20 World Cup. In a podcast shared by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Azam emphasised the significance of every fixture in the tournament, not just the highly anticipated match against India.
Azam stressed the unity of the team, stating that winning the T20 World Cup is a collective goal. He acknowledged the intense rivalry between Pakistan and India, noting the global interest it generates among fans.
While recognising the pressure associated with Indo-Pak clashes, Azam highlighted the importance of defeating all opponents to clinch the title. He also praised the 2024 T20 World Cup schedule, anticipating new experiences with the tournament being held in the United States, featuring drop-in pitches and different stadiums.
Reflecting on his role as captain, Azam expressed his desire to lead Pakistan to victory, aiming to bring home the trophy for the third time.
