Iqra Aziz, an actor, has resisted silence in the face of injustice. She chose to withdraw from her collaboration with Feroze Khan in order to support victims of domestic violence in addition to being outspoken about the side she supports. She stands with Khan’s ex-wife Aliza Sultan, who recently provided emergency room records and pictures of her bruises in a Karachi family court as evidence of abuse, together with her spouse Yasir Hussain.
Iqra Aziz posted a message on Instagram on Wednesday with the hashtags “say not to violence” and “support women.” “To remain silent in the face of injustice is to support the oppressor,'” the saying goes. I have decided to rescind our project with Feroze Khan in light of the current domestic violence crisis in an effort to show my support for those who have been harmed in the home. This was a challenging but essential decision. More strength and power to you, Aliza Sultan, for your pursuit of justice,” she added. In Khuda Aur Mohabbat 3, they acted together as co-stars.
Their ongoing project is supposedly a Geo production, from which Aziz has chosen to withdraw.
Actor Yasir Hussain also publicly expressed his opinion on the subject, referencing the cycle of abuse and the characteristics of a good interpersonal dynamic. “All praise be to Allah, I adore my wife and kids. There is a 90% possibility that my son will touch my wife tomorrow if I touch her. While fighting between spouses is common, beating each other up like animals is not.
No matter whether it is committed by a celebrity or a regular person, he said, he is opposed to domestic abuse.
He prayed for Sultan and declared, “I support Aliza and her family. May Allah take away these burdens and bring peace into their lives soon. Amen.”
On Tuesday, pictures of Sultan with injuries as well as her ER and MLO reports began to become viral on social media. Along with a report from Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre’s Accident and Emergency Department describing “blunt injuries on both arms, [the] back, chest, and face,” they were among the papers her legal team submitted to a District East Family Court. Additionally, a “little nosebleed” was noted. According to the preliminary diagnosis, it was an “assault.”
As celebrities began publicly denouncing domestic violence, this stirred up controversy online. A large group of celebrities from the entertainment sector, including Mariyam Nafees, Asim Azhar, Osman Khalid Butt, Iqra Aziz, Mansha Pasha, Shae Gill, Ushna Shah, Minal, and Aiman Khan, and Usman Mukhtar, came together to support Sultan wholeheartedly.
On Tuesday night, Khan issued a statement refuting all claims of abuse made against him. He referred to them as “baseless, spiteful, and untrue,” adding that he has “never knowingly damaged another human being” as a supporter of human rights.
