Amber Heard claims that the wrong juror was assigned to the case, which, according to her attorneys, qualifies her for a mistrial “based on newly discovered facts and information.” She is suing Johnny Depp for defamation and is asking for a new trial.
According to paperwork submitted to the Circuit Court of Fairfax County, the actress asserted that “Juror No. 15 was not the individual summoned for jury duty on April 11, 2022.”
There is reportedly a difference in the ages of the two jurors; according to the documents, the juror who was initially chosen is 77 years old but lives at the same address as a 52-year-old.c
The filing states: “Where the fact and date of the jury trial were highly publicised prior to and after the issuance of the juror summonses, it is deeply troubling for an individual not summoned for jury duty nonetheless to appear for jury duty and serve on a jury, especially in a such as this.”
According to the paperwork, the Aquaman actress was not provided with “due process,” so she is requesting that a mistrial “and a new trial” be ordered.
All three of Johnny Depp’s defamation claims against his ex-wife Amber were successful. Streaming services and news channels broadcast the six-week trial.
