In accordance with the Pakistan-India Protocol on Visits to Religious Shrines of 1974, almost 3,000 pilgrims are taking part in celebrations of Guru Nanak’s birth anniversary in numerous Pakistani cities from November 6 to November 15.
2,420 Indian Sikh pilgrims have reportedly made the trip to Pakistan to take part in the Guru Nanak Jayanti celebrations, according to Home Ministry records. On Tuesday, 433 Indian pilgrims travelled to Pakistan’s Sri Kartarpur Sahib Gurdwara via the ICP Dera Baba Nanak in Amritsar to offer prayers on Gurpurab.
A number of jathas of Sikh pilgrims travelled across the Attari-Wagah border to visit Nankana Sahib in Pakistan’s Punjab region.
The highly respected Gurdwara Janam Asthan, also known as Gurdwara Nankana Sahib, is located at the location of Guru Nanak’s birth.
In Pakistan’s Punjab province, in the city of Nankana Sahib, close to Lahore, is where you can find the shrine.
429 Indian citizens and four OCI cardholders were among the pilgrims who went to the Sri Kartarpur Sahib Gurdwara. After offering their prayers, every pilgrim has returned.
