Actress Alizeh Shah has had to deal with online bullying, mockery, and defamatory accusations of all kinds, including slut-shaming, body-shaming, being poked for her accent and being called disrespectful and difficult.
Despite having what appears to be thick skin, the starlet rarely responds to the negative remarks made about her on social media. Unless, of course, they come from senior citizens or fellow actors.
But the actor, who keeps her head held high, frequently posts on Instagram to subtly address the unwanted bullying she has experienced.
This time, citing a rather tasteful comment made in response to commentator and former cricketer Shoaib Akhtar’s recent news, Alizeh explained what she believes meme culture actually should look like: laughing with people rather than at them.
On Saturday, July 2, Shoaib had declared that he would be performing the Hajj this year “as a state guest of Saudi Arabia.” “I will also be speaking at the Hajj Conference in Makkah, which is attended by leaders of the Muslim world,” he had added. He has since shared highlights of the conference on his Twitter account.
So, this year, Satan will receive stone blows travelling at a speed of 150 kph or more, a user had responded. “Now that’s what I call a meme,” Alizeh captioned a tweet she shared with the reply on her Instagram Stories.
Remember, there is a big difference between making a joke and mocking someone, the Ehd-e-Wafa actor continued, “Yaad rakhen, mazaaq karne, or mazaaq uraane mein zameen asmaan ka farq hai.”
Alizeh was most recently made fun of for losing weight after being relentlessly body shamed by users for gaining weight.
Many were shocked by her transformation, and some complained that she no longer had the same “cute” appearance as before. Some people also believed that she lost weight as a result of “drug abuse,” and they persisted in making unjustified remarks about her body.
