ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah on Friday advised Imran Khan’s party and followers to cease rioting following the Election Commission of Pakistan’s (ECP) decision in the Toshakhana reference disqualifying him. He also proposed filing a judicial appeal. After the ECP’s ruling was made public, PTI supporters nationwide protested, leaving the general public concerned about the situation of law and order in the places affected by the disruption.
In the midst of the demonstrations that erupted after the decision was announced, Sanaullah urged PTI supporters to “cool down” while speaking to a press conference in Islamabad. He pleaded with the demonstrators, “Do not add to the public’s problem; do not penalise them.”
The interior minister stated that billions of rupees have not yet been found, and only Imran Khan Niazi has been held accountable for [his wrongdoings].The minister pointed to the anger of party members after the verdict, saying, “All the thieves sitting at Bani Gala have linked heads together.”
Khan was mocked by Sanaullah as he continued: “Who instructed you to take Toshakhana’s gifts? Your own admission of the theft was followed by a later assertion that you had built a street using the stolen funds.”
