Prime Leader Boris Johnson has resisted calls to offer greater assistance to families dealing with rising costs, saying his administration will defer to the next prime minister, who will enter office in early September, on important budgetary matters.
According to Matthew Taylor, chief executive of the NHS Confederation, which represents organisations in the healthcare sector, “the UK is confronting a humanitarian crisis.”
