KABUL: On Thursday, an organisation from the United Arab Emirates signed a deal to control aviation traffic in Afghanistan as the Taliban government looks to increase the number of foreign aircraft.
Despite the fact that some aircraft are still leaving from Kabul Airport, much additional assistance is required before major foreign airlines can restart regular operations.
It is believed that restarting Afghanistan’s damaged economy depends on the complete operation of the capital’s airport, which was destroyed in August of last year during a mass evacuation of civilians when the Taliban swept back to power.
The Abu Dhabi-based GAAC struck a deal on Thursday that it hopes will assist in bringing back significant international airlines.
