A district and sessions court in Rawalpindi on Tuesday ordered the Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) to temporarily halt the eviction of the building after Awami Muslim League (AML) leader Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad challenged a notification requesting him to leave his residence in Lal Haveli.
The board ordered AML leader Rasheed and his brother Sheikh Siddique to leave the house within seven days on October 16. But on Monday, the former minister contested the notification in court. It should be noted that the court set the case’s hearing date for October 24 while setting October 19 as the final day for Lal Haveli’s removal.
