ISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Petroleum and PML-N leader Musadik Malik said on Saturday that former prime minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan did not want to be asked about the foreign funding of his party. Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, he claimed that Imran was no more ‘truthful and honest’.
At the PTI rally in Islamabad, Khan flashed a letter in front of the public, claiming it had come from the United States and warned of dire consequences if a no-trust resolution against him was not approved by the National Assembly. He even insisted that he had never shared the document with anyone (NA). He recalled that “all institutions, particularly the ISPR, had firmly denied there was a conspiracy behind the fall of the PTI government.”
Musadik was of the view that Imran and his party wanted to pressurize the country’s establishment by holding public gatherings. “Imran, what are you afraid of if you have done nothing wrong,” he added.
The minister expressed regrets that Shehbaz Gill of the PTI, who had incited people against the Pakistan Army, had only received a two-day physical remand whereas PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz had received a 45-day physical remand. The minister continued by stating that it was odd that the PTI chairman was waiting for President Joe Biden’s call while claiming to be the victim of a US scheme.
