ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah claimed on Sunday that PTI’s announcement to host public gatherings across the nation was merely a “political farce” as Imran Khan was attempting to hide his thievery, according to Geo.tv.
The interior minister predicted that Mr. Khan will lose all nine of the National Assembly seats up for grabs after the NA speaker accepted the resignations of PTI MNAs in a statement.
Speaking on the Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) investigation into illegal funding received by the PTI, the minister threatened to arrest anyone who did not comply with the FIA.
Mr. Sanaullah added that PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif would return to Pakistan prior to the 2023 general elections without providing a specific date.
The PTI political committee resolved on Saturday to stage a power show in Islamabad on August 13. The decision was made at a meeting with Asad Umar, Fawad Chaudhry, Shireen Mazari, Omar Ayub, Saifullah Niazi, and others, which was presided over by Mr. Khan.
In response to Mr. Sanaullah’s remarks, PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry warned the interior minister from criticising the PTI chairman in future statements.
Geo.tv quoted Mr. Chaudhry as saying, “Your [Mr. Sanaullah’s] value is not greater than a SHO of Kohsar police station.”
