Electronic Arts is already preparing for its post-FIFA future even though FIFA 23 hasn’t even released yet. EA will serve as the league’s title sponsor beginning with the 2023–2024 season as part of a new agreement the publisher announced today with Spain’s LaLiga, which is home to legendary teams like Real Madrid and Barcelona. That season also happens to be the last one in which EA will release a game with FIFA branding, FIFA 23, in favour of a new soccer franchise dubbed EA Sports FC.
The new agreement, according to EA, will include:
All LaLiga competitions will have title naming rights, and LaLiga will be completely rebranded with EA Sports, including all logos, images, and other elements.
fonts, and other graphic components, as well as additional broadcast highlights, in-game connectivity, and shared commitments to supporting grassroots activities.
The agreement will encompass Spain’s top two soccer leagues, as well as an annual youth tournament and recognised esports events. More information about the collaboration will be made available “in the coming months,” according to EA.
