On Sunday night, a number of locations in Balochistan’s Makran Division experienced an earthquake.The province’s Gwadar, Pasni, Ormara, and Kech regions also experienced tremors.
The National Seismic Monitoring Centre reports that the earthquake had a magnitude of 5.6 on the Richter scale. Its epicentre was at Pasni, close to Gwadar, and it had a depth of 30 km.
Although there were no early reports of injuries or property damage, it is important to keep in mind that various regions of Balochistan are currently dealing with monsoon floods, which have left the province in terrible shape.
Because of the rains, over 124 people have already died, over 6,000 homes have been completely destroyed, and over 10,000 homes have suffered partial damage.
