Khan’s reaction
In response, Khan stated that he had known Arif Naqvi for the previous 20–25 years in response to inquiries about the Pakistani tycoon’s alleged involvement in the PTI’s finances. “He [Naqvi] was helping the nation because he was a gifted individual who could have helped it by rising.
“Naqvi used to give us substantial sums for the cancer hospital; he also hosted two fundraiser dinners for PTI in 2012, set up a game in London, and invited top businessmen in Dubai — money is raised like this all over the world,” said a PTI employee.
In his words, “we have a database of 40,000 donors,” his party is the first to raise money through political fundraising. Every year, funds for the cancer hospital are raised to the tune of Rs 9 billion. Why aren’t PPP and PML-N asked about their funds when they don’t even have a database?Imran Khan
Khan continued by saying that no money was obtained illegally and that all transactions were conducted through legitimate banking channels.
Khan described Naqvi’s case as a “big tragedy” and noted that it is still pending. “Nothing was lost,”
