KARACHI: The name of former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) leader Imran Khan should be added on the Exit Control List, according to Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon (ECL). On Friday, he addressed the media. Memon was responding to a Financial Time article that was published on Friday and alleged that Arif Naqvi of the Abraaj Group had organised a charity match through which Imran Khan’s PTI had received millions of dollars from businesses and foreigners.
He claimed that following the Financial Times article, the federal government could detain Imran Khan if it so desired. To prevent Imran from leaving the nation, the minister promised to ask the federal government to add his name to the Exit Control List (ECL). Memon said that the report proves that Imran Khan is the biggest dacoit, adding that names of PTI chief’s disciples should also be put on the ECL.
The minister challenged PTI chief to take Financial Times to the court if he has any courage. These funds were used for running Imran Khan’s kitchen, PTI’s election campaigns, buying properties for Imran and his family members, as well as running paid campaigns on social media, said Sharjeel Memon. Memon also demanded that the Election Commission of Pakistan should announce the verdict reserved in the prohibited funding case.
