Brad Pitt, the hunky star of Hollywood, has expanded his magnificent real estate portfolio by purchasing another elegant house. The Fight Club actor paid a stunning $40 million for a mediaeval castle perched on a cliff in the Carmel Highlands neighbourhood of central California.
The 58-year-old actor purchased the D. L. James House in an off-market sale that was also one of the most costly transactions ever completed in the Carmel region. The star is presently busy promoting the next movie Bullet Train.
The five-year construction of the sandstone and granite Mediterranean-style historic estate, which overlooks expansive vistas of the Pacific Ocean, was conceived by renowned architect Charles Sumner Greene and completed in 1918.
