The redesigned album and playlist views for YouTube Music, which were first made available on tablets in June, are now accessible on Android phones. The portrait UI features a considerably larger cover image that lists the piece’s creator and the most recent update.
The album name and controls, which include download, editing, shuffle or play, sharing, and an additional overlay menu with options to delete, play next, etc., are clearly visible behind the background-blurred art.
The track listing is just below the cover art, while the song counts and duration are at the bottom. Users can access the shuffle FAB (floating action button) by scrolling down to the bottom right corner.
The new design, which was first offered to large screen mobile devices such as tablets and Chromebooks before being applied to phones, provides the app a more contemporary layout. The revamp, which was originally intended for playlists, was later extended to cover albums.
