KATHMANDU: A 47-year-old Nepali Sherpa has achieved a feat in climbing by ascending all 14 peaks over 8,000 metres (26,247 feet) twice, according to his agency.

On Thursday morning, Sanu Sherpa of the Sankhuwasabha district in eastern Nepal summited Pakistan’s Gasherbrum II, the 13th-highest mountain in the world at 8,035 metres, according to his hiking company, Pioneer Adventure.

Nibesh Karki, the executive director of the company, said that he is the only person in the world to have scaled each of the 14 highest mountains twice. No additional information was available.
Nepal is home to Mount Everest and eight of the world’s fourteen highest peaks. The remaining six are located in China‘s Tibet region and Pakistan.
