The Pakistan Meteorological Department has predicted another period of heavy rains in several districts of Sindh, including Karachi, after monsoon rains wreaked havoc in multiple parts of Pakistan over the past two weeks, killing many in Sindh and Balochistan.
The third monsoon system will hit portions of the nation today, according to chief meteorologist Sardar Sarfaraz. Heavy rains are anticipated in Karachi from July 24 to July 26 due to the powerful system that may impact Sindh from July 23 to July 26. 80 percent of the country would experience significant rains as a result of the new system, according to Sarfaraz.
The spell will impact southern Punjab and Balochistan tomorrow morning, he said, while the upper part of the country may be affected tonight.
According to the chief meteorologist, the Arabian Sea will provide moisture to boost the monsoon system, which is already being strengthened by moist winds from the Bay of Bengal. Heavy rainfall in the early monsoon season is expected through August 15, according to the Met department.
